Directed by Vlad Yudin, “Last Day of Summer” is a surprising movie, where comedy isn’t funny, and the script is not strong enough. The cast includes DJ Qualls, Nikki Reed and William Sadler.
Plot-
Last Day of Summer is a story of an employee who decides to take revenge on his boss who has made his life miserable. However, he meets a girl and kidnaps her instead, and his life now takes a turn.
Analysis-
The director, Vlad Yudin, should have been more careful while making the movie, as many parts are not strong, and the movie looks like it is in a chaos. A young employee, who is exploited way beyond measure by his boss, decides to take revenge on him and makes a plan to kidnap him. However, he kidnaps a girl instead, for no particular reason, and then falls in love with her. Apart from deviating from the plot, the movie gets pathetically boring and there are no surprise elements thereon.
The movie jumps from a scene to another, not following a set pattern.
Last Day of Summer is unpredictable, though not in a good way.
Star Performances-
The strong cast of this movie, with a lot of potential, has been wasted on a weak script. The actors have put in their best efforts. However, because of the script, the movie cannot be improved on.
Verdict-
The film is impulsive, and might even get exasperating after a time. The script is weak. If you want a change and like unpredictability, this one is for you. However, it is not a movie I would suggest to watch. Rather, go take a walk in the park.
