The movie hit the screens on July 12, 2013. The movie turned out to be a box-office hit. But, the film received different types of reviews from the film critics. It also won quite some nominations for awards. Adam Sandler does the role of Lenny Feder.

Kevin James, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, and David Spade have reappeared after their role in the original that hit the screens in 2010. The script is a joint venture by Sandler, Fred Wolf, and Tim Herlihy. The four actors have done buddies in the movie. Adam, along with friends and family, shifts from Los Angeles to his native town. He finds bullying people all over, and as though it would not suffice, there are also party crashers. Eric has his fears, Kurt returns to his job as cable repair guy, and Marcus happens to realize that he is the father of an 18-year-old son.
The movies by Sandler have always been silly, but his earlier movies were quite harmless for view by audiences. But, in the current one, the humor seems to be at the cost of somebody else’s downfall. Cartoons making a mockery of gay relationship are seen throughout the movie, and there is a mockery of mental illness. The most irritating aspect feature about the movie is that it is redundant with such cheap parodies. Rob Schneider, who formed a major part of the humor in the original version, is not to be seen in the movie.
The moviemakers seem to derive a sadistic pleasure from watching others being put down. Jokes on transgender and jokes on people who are homesick and many other jokes abound in it. There is a falsity that is very obvious, beyond which it does not have anything to say. The movie’s actors land themselves in embarrassment in many scenes. But, it is not their fault, but, the director’s fault of giving such a mediocre film. Audiences have no need for regret if they have missed watching the movie.
