, who made a stylish debut through, “Akhil” is getting ready for his next flick. Amala, who is known well as an Animal activist, talented actress, and a dancer, shares her awesome journey from Kalakshetra to Tinsel Town. When we speak with her for a few minutes, we don’t find a celebrity in her. She is just awesome and makes us comfortable with her behavior. She says, "The internet has gotten my age all wrong, I am not 47, I am in fact 49." But, this gorgeous lady looks like 35+. Amala is now mentoring the film students. She explains her life journey. She is proud of her father, who worked in Indian Navy. She says, "My father was from East Bengal. Having lost everything to the Partition, he came as a refugee. Noticing that he was brilliant, a doctor sponsored his education. He then got through to IIT Kharagpur after which he joined the Navy. While growing up, we all did our own work— I remember, we had a sign on our bathroom door which said 'Gandhiji cleaned his own bathrooms, so must you.” Amala’s mom is an Irish lady. She is a humanitarian and a poet too. Amala’s childhood was in Kalakshetra, where she fell in love, not only with dance but animals too. Amala looks stunning in almost all the outfits. She says about her dressing style, "My school was one of the most beautiful places a child can grow up in. You are surrounded by nature — cats, dogs, birds and buffaloes everywhere. Here, I developed a love for animals as well as handwoven sarees. I was very comfortable wearing a saree — I could play any sport in a saree. We even learned to dance in a saree... it is so comfortable." Amala is a multilingual personality; she could speak five languages fluently. "Although I speak five languages, I am not really good at all of them. My Telugu elicited a lot of laughs initially. People would laugh at my face and make snide remarks, but I chose to communicate than sit on a high horse and pass judgments," says this humble woman. She married Nagarjuna at her 24 and quit from the film industry. Her family life with Nagarjuna is wonderful, and they are celebrating their silver jubilee, now. She says about her relationship with Nag, "The minute we enter our home, we are a family like any other. We have our ups and downs, joys and sorrows, just like any other family. Nag might be a star, but as a husband, I don't think there was any occasion where he has made me feel anything less than an equal partner. It doesn't matter if he is in a roomful of beautiful ladies because his eyes would always be on me." She proudly says that Nagarjuna treats her like a queen, and she is proud to have a good husband like him. Many more happy days to come, Amala!
