” was about to visit Sri Lanka for an event hosted by Subaskaran of LYCA Productions. Rajini agreed to attend the event. But, the politicians in Tamilnadu made it controversial and made Rajini cancel his trip. Rajini said that he was about to meet the Sri Lankan Ministers and speak about the fishermen issue. As his trip was canceled, the Tamilnadu politicians thanked Rajini for his decision. Sri Lanka’s former President, Rajapaksa's son, commented that Rajini’s visit is unnecessarily banned by the Tamil politicians and they had made cheap politics. Now, the Sri Lankan fisheries secretary Anthony Muthu states that if Rajini would have visited Sri Lanka, there had been a possibility of solving the Indian fisherman and Sri Lankan Navy issue.
