The reporters shot questions about the Neduvasal protest against the extraction of Hydrocarbon in the agricultural lands when the Minister was at the Coimbatore Airport. Sengottaiyan replied that the people are not protesting against the state government and they are opposing this project brought by the Central government. It was heard security at Neduvasal has been tightened and outsiders are not allowed to participate in the protest. The shale gas or methane or hydrocarbon extraction will make the land infertile and also affect the groundwater.
