Jayalalithaa Jayaram, more popularly known as Pura >> Read More...
” was the first one to shoot the question about integrating Kashmir with India. Many speak about Jayalalitha, her governance and her attitude. None had spoken about her nationalism. Yes, none had! Jayalalithaa, who was elected as the MP for Rajya Sabha in 1984, roared for dismissing Farooq Abdullah government in Kashmir. It was done by Indira Gandhi government. The same rule had been used to dissolve the ADMK government too.
During her speech, Jayalalithaa lashed out the Telugu Desam Party leader NTR for ill-speaking about India. She didn’t leave the opposition party for their comment, democracy’s death.
After her fiery speech, Madam Jaylalithaa raised two questions to the Home Affairs Minister. The first one was: Will they bring Jammu And Kashmir under Governor’s rule? The second one - Why are they delaying to integrate Jammu And Kashmir with Indian Union and not bringing it under the Indian Constitution like all the other states in India? This was raised by her in 1984, exactly 35 years ago! Her bold speech, made many senior politicians raise their eyebrows!
