Hima Das Wins Gold For India!

Hima Das is the first Indian to win the Gold in the track event in the world championships. IAAF World Under – 20 Athletics Championships are being held in Tampere, Finland. Hima won the gold medal in the 400m. She completed the run in 51.46 seconds and it is an excellent record. The 18-year-old girl made the Indians proud with her medal. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister tweeted, “India is delighted and proud of athlete Hima Das, who won a historic Gold in the 400m of World U20 Championships. Congratulations to her! This accomplishment will certainly inspire young athletes in the coming years.” Rajyavardhan Rathore, the sports minister tweeted, “Hima Das creates history by winning Gold medal in 400m of World U20 Championships.
