Tamil films have been receiving the tax exemption from 2006. The films are availed with the benefit if the film title is in Tamil. As per the reports received, nearly 2012 films had been exempted from the tax, so far. High Court Judge Kirubakaran has ordered to calculate the tax exemption received by all those 2012 films. He has also asked that by giving the tax exemption, did those films support the culture development. Kirubakaran has also asked that if the films are tax-free, then why the theaters didn’t reduce the ticket cost. Who is the original beneficiary of this tax exemption, asks Kirubakaran. Hope he had triggered the right question. Who will answer his reasonable question? Let us wait and watch!
