When the Ministry of Railways posted a picture of the women coolies, who work hard, a DMK MLA named TRB Rajaa commented , “This post reeks of the #chauvinistic & pea brained #attitude of sanghi upbringing Wat kinda twisted mind wud love the sight of our #women folk carrying baggages of grownup men on their heads THIS is the mentality that #Periyar #Anna #Kalaignar #ThalaivarMKS & EVEN jaya opposed!”

Kasthuri replied, “Why criticise women who are choosing a different path? My keerai lady carries more weight in a basket on her head , walks all day in the sun . Because the men in her family are good for nothing drunks. In TN, All the leaders u mentioned were responsible for the alcohol menace.” When a person stated, “Kasturi life is not a film. In real life, No one is proud of being a coolie and no one's wish is to become a coolie. Show me 1 working class person who wants his/her child to become a coolie,” Kasthuri’s reply was, “You guys have to first learn dignity of labor. Honest work is so much more respectable than sellung liquor and stealing from road contracts.” She once again proved that she is bold.
