in 2013 and in the second movie that he took up, he made Vijay do a role. He won the award by Vijay TV for the best director. He mesmerized the fans. He said that one has to make use of one or two characters and supporting that the other roles could be. Also, Atlee added that he gives the priority to heroines in his movies.
But, although there are three heroines who emerge in numbers, there is no particular character. Among the three, the importance has been given to Nithya Menen’s role. It would be apt to say that the role befitted her. It is to be noted that there have been a number of directors in the Tamil cine field. But, Atlee through his very first movie, had a meteoric rise to fame. He directed the movie Theri starring Vijay and following that he did Mersal. It is expected that Vijay and Atlee would join hand for movie again. Atlee added that he wanted to do a period movie. It has been my desire to direct the novel Ponniyin Selvan as a movie. Time and the circumstances are the support for all those ventures, said Atlee.
