There have been a number of singers in the Kannada cine field. 'S. Janaki' the veteran singer occupies a special place in the hearts of masses for her career in singing. Now the singer is 65 year old. She is to retire from her singing profession with an event in Mysore. The singing concert is to be held on 28th of October. It is to be held in the cultural city of Mysore. It is to be noted that Janaki was to quit singing during the last year. But, due to plea to continue singing, the singer has consented to singing in Mysore. It is to be noted that Mysore is called the city of palaces. Janaki has done singing in various languages.
During the last year, in Kerala, she did the numbers in the movie Pathu Kalpanaakal and she said that she is retiring from the profession. Now, in a fresh turn of events, the occasion in Mysore is to be her last concert in the public. During the year of 1952, in a composition by GK Venkatesh, the wonderful singer started her career in stage along with PB Srinivas. During the event held on 28th October, Janaki is to be felicitated. There are innumerous numbers done by S Janaki in Kannada.
