Sankranthi is a festival of great significance for the Telugu and Kannada people. It falls in the month of January every year and is celebrated with a great degree of pomp.
RJ Divya
hosts a show called Suprabhata on the 92.7 BIG FM, Kannada radio channel every day. So on the day of the festival earlier this year, she decided to pay a visit to her listeners in Bangalore and celebrate with them. She was not alone on this mission but was accompanied by Sandalwood actress
Ragini Dwivedi
whose film "Prapancha" was released close to the date of the festival. They also distributed sweets and gifts to the families they visited. The traditional dish of Ellu Bella, which is a mixture of sesame seeds, jaggery, roasted peanuts and coconut and Kabbu, which is the sugarcane in Kannada, was also savoured by them. The families, who were initially shocked by the unexpected visit of their favourite RJ, got into the colours of the festival and enjoyed themselves.
