K Annamalai is back in Karnataka! No, it’s not for a political campaign or revisiting his younger days. K Annamalai will soon be in a cameo role in a sports drama!
Yes, you read it right! K Annamalai will be playing a minor but important role in an upcoming movie ‘Arabbie’. The movie will be directed by Rajkumar R and will be released by mid-June, i.e. once the general elections for Lok Sabha are over. K Annamalai will be playing the role of a coach to a differently abled swimmer, who was born without hands.
For those unaware, K Annamalai is a former IPS officer who has made a name for himself in both policing and politics. He earned a name for himself for his campaign against drugs and was posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Bengaluru South.
Interestingly, he is not the only star highlight of the movie. Since the sports drama revolves around a para-athlete, the makers have roped in an actual para-athlete Vishwas KS, who has earned laurels for India in swimming on the international stage. The project was announced way back in 2019, but due to several post-production delays, it is finally being released in 2024.
