was invited to inaugurate the Bangalore International Film Festival. She lit the lamp and started the festival. During her speech, he requested the Government officials to grant the freedom to the filmmakers, so that they could bring out their talents comfortably. She also spoke at the function that, she always wanted her daughter-in-law from South India. She tells the reason, why she wanted a South Indian girl for her son. “South Indian girls are soaked with culture, and they have good traditional values too. They carry well in their life. I am euphoric that my daughter in law is a South Indian, especially, she is from Karnataka”. Hearing her speech, everyone was impressed. What a timely touch by Jaya Bachchan!
