It has been considerable time since the dubbed movies made an entry into Kannada cine field. The English movie Fast and Furious 8 has been dubbed in Kannada. The Karnataka High Court has said that there should be no hassle to release of dubbed movies in Kannada. The Kannada version of the movie has been titled as Vega Mattu Udvega 8. As per original plans the movie was to hit the silver screens on Friday. But, the release of the movie was postponed. The reason is that distributors could not grab sufficient theaters for the movie. The movie requires 2K projectors for screening of the movie.
As of now, there are 75 theaters with 2K projectors. But, the distributors could get only a scant number of three. During the last year, there was a petition put by the Kannada Graahakara Koota which was against the release of dubbed movies in Kannada But, the move is illegal said the CCI. There was an interim petition by the KFCC which prevented the screening of dubbed movies. But the Karnataka court rejected the petition and said that dubbed movies could be released in Kannada.
