After she had expressed that the men are paid much more than women in the cinema industry for the same level of work, many actresses joined her and had a debate on the remuneration issue. Following that, we saw the similar talks in Bollywood. Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt started the same topic. Aindrita Ray is the one who started the remuneration issue in Sandalwood. When Divya Spandana started this issue in 2014, there were none to follow up. Now, Aindrita’s statement at the Press conference stirred up the issue. However, the producers and the highly paid heroes are keeping quiet in this regard. In the latest interview to a leading daily, Aindrita says, "There should be some justice to the pay of the heroines as well in the industry. Most heroines get only 5%-10% of the lead actor's pay, which is very little for the amount of work they put in. I haven't demanded equal pay, but what I advocate is bridging the gap in this disparity.” Parul Yadav and Shanvi Srivastava have openly expressed their support to Aindrita.
