She is said to have attended a big party, where a lot of politicians took part. After she was tested positive, many politicians who took part in the party, self-isolated them. Kanika Kapoor was sent to the COVID treatment center and after the treatment, she got cured.

After testing negative, she was discharged. It is to be noted that she had been tested for the sixth time. Some reports stated that she had been charged under the IPC Sections 259 and 270. Already Lucknow police filed a case against her under IPC Sections 188, 269 and 270 based on the complaint by a Chief Medical Officer.
