The film is about the increase in drug peddling in the northern states, especially Punjab. While Shahid is the lead, Kareena will be seen as a doctor and Alia as a hockey player in the film.
The actress has shot a song with real life hockey players for the film. She had taken a lot of professional training and said that she took almost two months to learn the sport. 'Udta Punjab' is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Films and is set to release on 17th June this year.
