After completing 154 episodes; The Vampire Diaries is soon releasing its next season. Ian was in disbelief when he thought to himself about the fact, that he had shot for vampire diaries for seven years now. However, Ian Somerhalder states that the vampire diaries should now focus on the leading characters. The actor believes that the success of the series is because people longed to watch the next episode and fell in love with the show not for the forty characters, but six or eight of them.

As a matter of fact, he doesn’t know where this will lead to, but now, he wants the audience to feel more indulged, more connected, more in love and more in the tune with the leading characters than they have been until now. Somerhalder serves right for this purpose, and his fans support the idea, it is now upon the makers to decide.
