1. Mother India (1957)

Mother India is the story of a poor village woman-RADHA (Nargis) who carries the burden of a loan from the cruel money lender-SUKHILAL. Her husband dies leaving four sons for her to raise all by herself.Radha is tortured by Sukhilal from time to time in every possible way. Amidst all the obstacles Radha not only raises her sons but also saves the village, becoming a heroine. She portrays the figure of the ideal woman made up of morals and values who shoots even her son for justice.

2. Damini (1993)

Damini is a happily married woman leading her life in peace. One fine day, she finds her brother-in-law raping the maid of the house and life changes for her. She calls all the family members and demands justice for the poor girl, but that goes in vain. Nobody in the family including her husband supports her. During her journey for justice she is thrown out of her family and faces a lot of troubles, but finally receives help from a lawyer who not only stands for her but also earns justice for Damini.

3. Bandit Queen (1994)

Bandit Queen is the biography of Phoolan Devi who was once prey to the child marriages and caste system prevailing in the society. She faces discrimination and sexual abuse over years because she belongs to a low caste family. Although she is tortured by the Thakurs, police and bandits, she finally takes over them and emerges as the Bandit Queen taking revenge. She hides in the ravines of Chambal as she is chased by the police. After a long time, she finally surrenders in 1994 for the sake of people of her gang.
