Well known for not adhering to cliché Bollywood stereotypes, Aamir Khan, surprisingly tops our list with his 30 Crores deal with Snapdeal. Considering how particular the actor is, when it comes to the movies he does or the brands he is linked to, we can presume that Mr Khan is, in fact, a regular user of the brands he endorses. A staunch believer in quality over quantity, Khan is rarely seen promoting brands. Other brands he is linked to are Titan, Coca-Cola and Samsung. He is believed to charge anything within the range of 5 to 7 crores a day.
Although this real-time Bollywood power couple has not been seen on screen together for quite some time; we can now see them together endorsing TTK Prestige kitchenware. The deal was reportedly signed for a whopping sum of 30 crore rupees. The tagline for the advert goes, “jo biwi se pyaar kare, wo prestige se kaise inkaar kare!”
King Khan of Bollywood is a whole brand in himself. Unlike the other Khan, he has no qualms with quantity or quality. Khan is one of the most recognised faces of Hindi cinema and one of the top choices for endorsements. All brands linked to him are extremely well-known (probably due to him being a part of them or maybe he just selects well. One can wonder!) His deal with Pan Vilas Paan Masala clocked in at an astounding 20 crores, making it the most expensive deal before Aamir’s Snapdeal advertisement. Apart from this, we can well place him with Frooti, Emami Fair and Handsome, Navratna Talcum Powder (“Thanda Thanda Cool Cool”) and Dish TV. His daily fee is believed to be 3.5 to 4 crores.
Currently, the most sought after actress in Bollywood, Deepika is riding high on her back-to-back successes and a number of films in the pipeline already. She bagged a six crore deal with Coca-Cola just the previous year, including around 17 other brands like Tanishq, Nescafe, Tissot, Vogue, Axis Bank, Kellog’s, HP, etc. She charges a cool 7.5 crore per deal!
When it comes to quantity, Akshay Kumar is not far behind. With 13 product endorsements in his kitty and a very talked about price hike the actor is doing very well for himself. Despite this, he cut down his fee by half for ‘ Rasna Rasna (born as Fathimath Rasana) famous for Malaya >> Read More... ’ after the droughts as the company took a huge hit in raw material cost; making Akki even more lovable to the audiences. Apart from this, he endorses Honda, Sugarfree, Dollar Club, Micromax, etc. He makes a jaw-dropping 8 to 10 crores per year per brand.
Despite his bad history, Salman Khan has one of the largest and most devoted fandoms in Bollywood. This is a major player in the success of his movies as well as being the reason for him being a top choice as brand ambassador. The actor is said to have started endorsing brands even before his entry into Bollywood. Revital, Thumbs-up, Wheel Washing Powder, Yatra.com, Relaxo Footwear, and Dixie Scott all have the privilege of being represented by him. 3.5 to 5 crores a day are his usual rates.
The grand master of Bollywood, is the face for many products like Maggi, Dairy Milk, ICICI Bank, Kalyan Jewellers, Parker Pens, Gujarat Tourism, Cadbury (“kuch meetha ho jae?”), etc. Upon his entry into Bollywood it was said that his voice was not suited for the film industry and that he would not make it a long way. Now, it is one of his most coveted features, apart from his brand value and of course, his acting skills. He charges a sum of 2.5 crore per day.
Though it’s been a while since we’ve seen her on the big screen, this soon-to-be mother has no dearth of commercial appearances. She is the face for many popular brands such as Vivel, Tetley Green Tea, Lakme, Lux, Sony, Head and Shoulders, Berger Paints and her newest deal BBlunt. We expect to see her endorsing more baby-friendly products in no time! The Begum of Bollywood charges 3 to 4 crores per endorsement.
When one thinks of Katrina Kaif and ads, the first thing that pops is the ‘rasiyaa aam sutra’ advertisement for Slice. Although having received a very mixed review for her stint in Bollywood, the actress had bagged a good set of ads, including Lux, Titan Raga, Olay, Veet, L’Oreal, Asian Paints, Nakshatra Jewellery, etc. She commands a hefty 5 to 6 crores per day.
How can one mention Bollywood and not talk about the current heartthrob of B-town Ranveer Singh. His rise in the industry has been exponential, and he does not look to be giving up his place anytime soon! This quirky, gorgeous hunk did the one thing that no other celebrity in this 100-year-old industry had the courage to do: An advertisement for Durex, a condom company. Due to losing out on a number of deals because of his look for Bajirao-Mastani, Ranveer has gone on an endorsement signing spree. Some popular names are Adidas, Maruti Suzuki’s Ciaz, Ching’s (the most expensive ad film in India), and Quikr.
Rates: 2.5 crores to rope in this hunk.
