1. Hum Paanch

Hum Paanch was one of the best comedy serials of 90's. This was the story of a middle-class man named Anand. Anand lived with his wife and five daughters. His daughters always create a trouble for him. His wife always takes the side of his daughters So, Anand always tells all his problems to his first wife (who is dead) in her picture hanging on the wall, and the amazing thing is that his first wife can also talk to him by her picture.  

2. Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne

Mungerilal ke haseen sapne was one of the most popular comedy shows of 90's. This was the story of a man named Mungerilal. Mungerilal was always tortured by his wife, his father in law and his boss. Mungerilal cannot get relief anywhere, so he started watching beautiful dreams where he can anything that he wants. This show became very much popular at that time.  

3. Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai

Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai was one of the best comedy serials ever. The story of this show revolves around a rich Gujarati family. Maya and Indravardhan Sarabhai live in their house with their elder son Sahil and his wife Monisha, and their younger son Rosesh. Maya always tries to make monisha realize that she don't deserve her son because she belongs to a middle-class Punjabi family. Indravardhan always takes side of his daughter in law.

4. Khichdi

Khichdi was one of the best comedy serials ever. The story of Khichdi revolves around a joint Gujarati family. Each member of the house have a different character, but they can't live without each other. They are always ready to helping each other. They can solve any problem with their unity.  

5. Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Cashmah is one of the most popular comedy shows running at this time. The story of this show revolves around a residential society named 'Gokuldham.’ Here six families live in this Gokuldham, who belongs to different regions of the country. In this society, people are always quarrelling with each other on any small reason but when anyone gets any trouble, the whole Gokuldham get unite like a family for helping each other.

6. Lapataganj

Lapataganj is the serial based on the novel of the same name written by Sharad Joshi. The story of this serial revolves around a town Lapataganj. It is a small town which doesn’t have basic facilities. But the people lived here are the happiest people. This serial shows that a common man can lead a happy life while struggling for their daily needs.

7. Office Office

Office Office was also one of the best comedy shows. This serial satirized the corrupt people. Office Office was the story of a common man who is revolving from one office to another for his work. After sometime he feels that corrupt is everywhere and it is very difficult to survive for a common man in this situation. Then he decided to fight against the corruption.

8. Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai

Bhabhi ji ghar par hai is the running comedy serial. This is the story of two couples lived in Kanpur. Manmohan Tiwari and Vibhuti Narayan Mishra lived in their houses with their beautiful wives. Tiwari and Vibhuti, both have a huge crush on each other's wives. Vibhuti's wife Anita is a modern and self-depend lady, where on the other hand Tiwari's wife Angoori is a simple housewife. Tiwari and Vibhuti always trying to pull each other down for impressing each other's wives.

9. Tu Tu Main Main

Tu Tu Main Main is also one of the most popular comedy shows of 90's. The story revolves around a Mother in law Devaki and her Daughter in law Radha. As the name of the serial they always get ready for arguments and fight with each other. Their husbands always tried to solve their problems, but they always get beaten.  

10. Zabaan Sambhalke

Zabaan Sambhalke was the Indian version of British comedy serial 'Mind Your Language.' This was the story of a man named Mohan. He is an engineer but teaching Hindi in a language school for some reason. Mohan hates his job, he has many complains about his life and can easily lose his temper. There are always some funny things happening around him.
