The Golden Kela Award is held every year, taking a sarcastic take on Bollywood, awarding the worst of Indian Cinema that year. Though we are still awaiting this year’s Nominations List. Let’s look at who won what at last year’s award show.

The 8th annual Golden Kela Awards were held in April 2016 at the Indian Habitat Center, New Delhi. These are the top 10 awards given at the ceremony last year.

1. Worst Actor (Male)

One of the most prestigious awards for the evening was won by none other than Arjun Kapoor Arjun Kapoor is a Bollywood star. He was born on 2 >> Read More... . He was awarded this for his Drama Thriller, Tevar. He essayed the role of a Kabbadi player who saved a young woman from Agra who is forced to marry without her will in the film.

2. Worst Actor (Female)

Sonam Kapoor Sonam Kapoor, Daughter of Anil Kapoor and model Su >> Read More... may be getting the Filmfare Best Actress Award this year for Neerja, but last year she won the Golden Kela Award for Worst Actor (Female) for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Princess Mathili was not so well appreciated by the Indian Audience.

3. Worst Director

The Worst Director Award also went to the Director of Sonam Kapoor starrer Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Sooraj Barjatya Sooraj Rajkumar Barjatya, also known as Sooraj Bar >> Read More... . This movie was the fourth time Barjatya and Salman collaborated after Hum Aapke Hai Kon?, Maine Pyaar Kiya, and Hum Saath Saath Hai.

4. Worst Film

The Worst Film of the year went to Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Karan Johar’s dream comeback film, Dilwale. The Raj and Meera love story was though earned big at the box office with its ensemble cast, but the story did miss a good storyline.

5. Most Annoying Song

This film did sweep up all the major trophies last year. Even the most annoying song was awarded to the title song of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’s title track. Sung by Palak Muchhal Palak Muchhal's birth date is on 30th March 19 >> Read More... , this is the song you wouldn’t want to listen twice.

6. Most Pointless Sequel/Remake

This we do not blame the jury once! No doubt the most pointless sequel awards goes to MSG-2The Messenger. The Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh starrer and directed film, was one of the Hindi Cinema films, which makes you question ‘WHY?’ while watching.

7. Most Atrocious Lyrics

The most atrocious lyrics award went to the Alfaz and Honey Singh Honey Singh was born on 15th March 1983 in Hoshiar >> Read More... song Birthday Bash from the film, Dilliwali Zalim Girlfriend. Like every year the Golden Kela Award Jury gave some interesting made up awards. Let’s look at some of those awards.

10. Bas Kijiye Bahut Ho Gaya Award

This trophy was earned by Sooraj Barjatya. It is a parody of the Lifetime Achievement Award at most film awards.
