Sainath Thotapalli

Sainath Thotapalli is a writer in the Indian film industry. He had extensively worked for the Telugu films. He wrote many scripts for Telugu movies, Kannada cinema, and Hindi films too. He hailed from the village of Ananthapura and went to the SRR and CVR Government College where he attained the degree of Bachelors in Science in Vijayawada district. The writer belonged to a family of eight siblings, but that never stopped him in the pursuance of his dreams. Instead, he became more confident with the support system of his family. He always used to write short stories and drama since his childhood. He had the writer’s streak in him from the early times. One of his play got aired on All India Radio called ‘Chaitanyam’ in the year 1974 and the other one named ‘Vennela Keratnam’ in 1976. He assisted Janadhyala Sastri in his films and learned a lot from him. He worked with him in more than fourteen films. Sainath did few of the blockbuster movies of his time namely Sirivemele, Challenge, Prema, Marana Mrudangam, Rakhi, Swathimutyan, and Pavitra Prem. He wrote the dialogue for the famous Bollywood movie Criminal and had an association with the storyline of the film Gundagardi. The versatile writer started working in Chennai films, and did the movie Veetil Viseshamga, Madrasi, Villain and Padiappa. He wrote the scripts of the known Kannada movies Marana Mruda and Prajashakti. He also worked in the world of television and delivered many hit shows.

He also did ‘Mixture Bardi’ in 2009 and wrote the script of it. He joined Larsco Entertainment and worked there for few years. He had the talent to weave an intriguing story that stole the heart of the audiences. His scripts bound the viewers to sit back in their chairs and enjoy every bit of it. Some notable Telugu movies by him are Rakhi, Saakshi, Prema Yuddham, Prema, Babai hotel, Kongu Chaatu Krishnudu, Vastaal, and Todu Need. His Kannada films are Lion Jagapathi Rao, Halunda Thararu, Lady Singham, and Prajashakthi in Kannada.
