Sai Chand is a versatile actor, who was born on 12th March 1956 in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. His parents are Tripuraneni Gopichand and Sakuntala Devi. His dad was a Telugu writer and his grandpa Tripuraneni Ramaswamy was a renowned lawyer, playwright, poet and social reformer. Sai Chand lost his father when he was just 6. Sai appeared in Sati Arundhati, a Telugu film as a child artist. He did his schooling at Vasavya Vidyalaya in Vijayawada. To pursue his graduation, Sai Chand went to Hyderabad. He completed his graduation at New Science College with B.com major.
In 1980, he made his debut as an actor with the film, Maa Bhoomi. The film directed by
was a super hit at the box office and the movie also received the prestigious Nandi Award from the Andhra state government. It was also honored at the Filmfare as the Best movie in Telugu.
