Prajwal PD

Acknowledged for his roles in Muthyala Muggu and Suryakantham, Prajwal PD is a television actor and trained classical dancer. Prajwal PD’s roots hail from Udipi in Karnataka, but he was born and grew up in Bengaluru. He comes from a non-filmy background where his father, Damodar, is an accountant and his mother, Hamsavani, is a homemaker. He has an elder brother Pradhan who is a software engineer. Fascinated by actor Kamal Hassan’s dance performance in Sagara Sangamam, Prajwal’s mother made him enroll in a dance class when he was nine years old. Under the tutelage of Roopshri Madhusudan, he learned the Pandanallur style of Bharatanatyam and went on to perform in competitions. Later, Prajwal learned the Tandava dance style under the training of Satyanarayana Raju.

He initially wanted to become a Mechanical engineer but later opted to study Commerce to devote more of his time to dance. Prajwal PD made his on-screen debut when he was in his Class 7. He got roped in to play the role of Lord Krishna. In the show, as for his part, he danced as Lord Krishna on the serpent’s hood. He then appeared in the Zee Kannada show, Punar Vivaha. The show gave him limelight and further opportunities. Following his Punar Vivaha, the actor made his entry into the Telugu television industry. He appeared in the role of Viraat in Zee Telugu’s daily soap opera Muthyala Muggu. Muthyala Muggu is a love triangle between Bhumi, Viraat, and Nandika.

The show ran successfully for over three years with around 900 episodes. Prajwal PD’s career in Telugu Television world started on a high note with Muthyala Muggu. In 2019, Prajwal landed in to play the male in the Zee Telugu serial Suryakantham as a rich and innocent man, Chaitanya. Suryakantham focuses on the relationship between Suryakantham and Chaitanya. The show is a hit among serial watchers and maintains to be one of the well-anticipated shows. Prajwal received a tremendous response for his role and garnered a huge fan following for his name, Amul baby. Apart from acting, Prajwal PD took part in the Zee Telugu dance reality show Dance Jodi Dance along with Yamini in 2018. The stage gave him a chance to exhibit his dancing talents to the world.
