Meghana Gummi is a Telugu actress who is known for her work in various genres. Her works include drama, adventure, science fiction, and comedy. She was born in 1968 in London, England. She studied metallurgical engineering at Imperial College London and graduated in 1990. She began her writing career in 1992, writing for the soap opera EastEnders and the children's drama Byker Grove, both for BBC One. She also wrote for the popular BBC Two drama series.
Meghana Gummi created and wrote her first original series in 1999, named The Last Train, a post-apocalyptic drama about a group of survivors who wake up from a cryogenic sleep after a meteor strike. In 2006, she co-created Life on Mars with Ashley Pharoah, which won several awards, including the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series in 2006. Meghana Gummi has also written episodes for other shows such as Spooks, Hustle, Doctor Who, Bonekickers, Eternal Law, Childhood's End, and Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams. She has also worked as a producer and consultant for some of these shows.
