Amala Akkineni

Amala is initially known as Amala Mukherjee was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, to a Bengali father who served as a Naval Officer and to a mother who belonged to the nation of Ireland. Amala is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and has also attained the Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, from Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts. She has been a good performer of Bharatanatyam and has performed worldwide live. Vijaya Thesingu Rajender, a Tamil film actor, director, composer, screenwriter, cinematographer, producer, playback singer, and a law expert, convinced Amala’s mother to permit her to begin her career as an actress and that he will cast her in a dance based film, where her Bharatanatyam skills will get exposure. 'Akkineni Nagarjuna', a Telugu film actor, married Amala. The couple gave birth to a son named 'Akhil Akkineni', who is also an actor. Amala is also the step-mother of 'Naga Chaitanya', who also is an actor. As an individual, Amala often regrets that she is unable to speak Telugu. "Mythili Ennai Kaathali" was the debut Tamil film of Amala, which was directed by Vijaya Thesingu Rajender, and it received a great response to the Box Office, the audience appreciated it very much. She even co-starred Aditya Pancholi in the 1988 movies, "Dayavan" and "Kab Tak Chup Rahungi". In 2010, she also judged a reality show titled, 'Super Mom', in Tamil, screened on STAR Vijay. In 1988, she made her debut in Kannada films opposite Kamal Hassan, in a movie titled "Pushpaka Vimana". While she made her Malayalam debut, opposite Suresh Gopi, in 1991, in a movie named, "Ente Sooryaputhrikku". Besides her work in the film industry, Amala is an animal welfare advocate and also the co-founder of an NGO in Hyderabad, India, named The Blue Cross of Hyderabad for the conservancy of animals and its well-being. He visited Amala’s house with the offer to act in his next film which was entirely based on Bharat Natyam. She married Akkineni Nagarjuna, who is a Telugu Film Actor, in the year 1992. The couple gave birth to a son in the year 1994 and named him Akkineni Akhil. She also has a step son named Naga Chaitanya. The family currently lives in Hyderabad. Once being interviewed by “The Hindu,” she confessed that her biggest fear is not “Walking the Talk” where social issues are concerned as she is a social activist. She has also accepted that her biggest regret in life is that she cannot speak Telugu fluently. Her debut film was “Mythili Ennai Kaathali” which was well received by the audience. She did 50 films which were huge blockbusters. Gayathri Iyer is a well-known Indian film actress and a model. She was born as Gayathri Venkitagiri on June 16, 1983, in Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu in India. She took a Mechanical Engineering course, and her modelling career started during college when she joined many fashion shows, which led her to participate in intercollege fashion shows. Later, she got noticed by certain casting directors and coordinators from Kerala. In 2014, she was cast in Agasthiya Bharathi’s Tamil film, Ninaivil Nindraval, which features Keerthi Chawla and Ashwin Sekhar in the lead roles. Gayathri also acted in her first Kannada appearance in the comedy horror film, Namo Bhootatma, which was helmed by renowned choreographer, Murali. The film stars Komal Kumar, Ishwarya Menon, Anaswara Kumar and Harish Raj in the lead roles. She also donned a Bengalj film entitled Shrishti. She reunites with Sivaji in the Telugu film, Dorakadu in 2015. Also from 2015, she acted in Rajkumar Reddy’s Kannada supernatural horror film, Ouija, which stars Bharat and Shraddha Das in the lead roles. This film was shot in Malaysia, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Ouija was entitled Aata in Telugu. She is now working in a Kannada action film entitled Tyson, alongside Vinod Prabhakar. Gayathri is not just a versatile actress but a talented performer as well. She is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and was trained in hip-hop and contemporary dance. She is also trained in Taekwondo. Her ultimate dream is to act in a Malayalam film if given a chance.
