Thapi Dharma Rao Naidu is an Indian Lyricist, Writer, and Social Reformer. He worked in the Telugu and Tamil Film Industries. Dharma Rao was born on the 19th of September in the year 1887.
He was born in Berhampur, Orissa. His native is Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh. His father’s name is Thapi Appanna Naidu, a medical practitioner. His mother’s name is Narasamma. He had his early schooling from Srikakulam. He completed his further education from Rippan High School in Vizianagaram. He completed his Intermediate in Parlakhamidi. He pursued his Bachelor of Arts degree from Pachaiyappa’s College in Madras, Tamil Nadu. He married Thapi Annapoornama.
He had two daughters and three sons. Initially, Dharma Rao worked as a Journalist. He was a trendsetter in Telugu Journalism. He was the one who introduced Spoken Language in Journalism.
He also worked as an editor for magazines “Kondegadu” and “Janavani.” He established a weekly magazine named “Kagada.” He was the founder of the book publishing company “Veguchkka Grandhamala.” Dharma Rao was the writer of the books “Pathapali, Kotha Pali,” “Sahityamormoralu,” “Rallu-Rappalu,” and many more.
He also worked for the films “Malapilla” (1938), “Raitu Bidda” (1939), “Illalu” (1940), “ Drohi Click to look into! >> Read More... ” (1948), “Keelugurram” (1949), and a few more films as Dialogue Writer. He died in the year 1973.
