Vaddepalli Krishna is an Indian Telugu director, poet, lyricist, and writer. His place of birth is Sircilla, now Rajana Sircilla (District), Telangana, India. He completed his Ph.D. at Osmania University. Vaddepalli Krishna’s father’s name is Sri Vaddepalli Lingaiah, while his mother’s name is Smt. Laksmamma.

In Dec 1996, Former Prime Minister Sri A.B. Vajpayee honored him as a Patriotic poet for his outstanding works. He has been writing for papers since 1968, for A.I.R. since 1969, and for DDK and Films since 1979. He has written thirty-four books, more than sixty dance ballets, and sixty many devotional audio albums. His audio albums sung by S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, Dr. Mangalmpalli Bala Murali Krishna, P. Vaddepalli Krishna has written & directed a stage play “ Dora Click to look into! >> Read More... ,” which is staged in Sircilla, Karimnagar, and Koratla, and also earned the best award in district drama competitions. His ballet “Gaddipuvvu,” was staged in Thyagaraya Gana Sabha and telecasted in Doordarshan in 1979. His book titled “Haalaa Halam,” earned Devulapalli Memorial Award from Andhra Mahila Sabha. His song titled “Manamanthaa Okkatane” was selected for “National Communal Singing Song” and broadcast by all A.I.R. stations in 1995.

His books titled “Vaddepalli Kavitha” and “Vaddepalli Geyavalli” earned “Sahithi Gouthami” Cinare Award and Telugu University “Geya Sahithya Puraskaram” in 1996 and 1998 respectively. In 1999, he wrote a historical devotional television serial “Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy,” directed by K.Raghavendra Rao for Gemini channel. He was nominated as a Jury for thirteen International Children’s film festivals by the Govt. of India in 2003. The same year, he was awarded with “Siri Veugula Satkaram” by Central Home Minister Ch. Vidyasagar Rao and KArimnagar Dist. Collector, S.P. on behalf of the Police Department.

Vaddepalli Krishna served as Central Film Censor Board Member for ten years from 2005 to 2015. He was appointed twice as Chairman of the T.V. Nandi Awards committee by the Government of A.P. in 2006 and 2009 in recognition of his seniority and sincerity. He has directed & written a documentary cum Dance Drama “Gow Bhgyam,” which received three awards in an International short film competition in 2014. In 2015, he was honored with the International “Wonder Book of World Records.” He was also honored for his Literary and Cultural works by the Assembly of New Jersey (USA) in 2016. In 2019, he was awarded with “Golden Bracelet” on the occasion of his Literary Golden Jubilee Celebrations.

Vaddepalli Krishna is a poet, cinema writer, and Lalitha Gita writer. In 1968, he wrote poems and songs in magazines like Sravanti and Krishnapatrika as well as Kavi Kalyanam, Gaddi Puvvu, Gandhi, Thimphu Aru Kayalu, Sankranthi Lakshmi, Swadeshiyam, Vivekananda Viyasa, Amrapali, Bathukamma, Jaya Jayahe Telangana, Ramaniya Ramappa etc. He has written and directed the films Edekikeldu Manasu (2005) and Lavanya with Love Boys (2017). Vadedepalli (August 5, 1948), in Sirisilla in the joint Karimnagar district in a simple family of handloom weavers. His parents were Lakshmamma and Lingayya.

He had a great passion for literature from his childhood, inspired by Sinare. Saikumar played the hero in that film. He made a documentary film called Gobhagyam on endangered cows. The film won prizes at the International Short Film Festival. He has made documentaries like Bathukamma, Suyidasha, and Netannalu and received special jury awards at the national level. On television, he directed serials like Bhakta Kavi Potana and Bharatiya Sanskrit Shikhara and impressed the audience. He has written texts like Pataveladulu (novels), Chirugazzele, Lalitha Geethalu in Telugu, Kanara is Your Country, Ragaratha, Vaddepalli Geyavalli, Cloudy Palanquin, interpolation, no light, spring and titles like change, The crown, Lalitashree, Poetry.
