Malini Dasari

Malini Dasari is a Filmmaker/ Cinematographer at Freelance Media Production. She was born and brought up in Hyderabad, India. Her father, Shankar, still a photographer by profession, handled a lot of commercial and industrial photography. She completed her graduation at St. Anns, Mehadipatnam. She then got admission to IIM Bangalore and completed her MBA with market specialization. Later, she worked at Xerox India (now known as Modi Xerox) for one and a half years. After quitting her job at Modi Xerox, she returned to Hyderabad and started working as a consultant to CRY (Child Relief and You).

Later, she saw an advertisement inviting applications for several courses, offered by Pune Film Institute. Malini grew up seeing her father as a professional photographer, she even took a few photographs from it as her hobby. As time passed by, she grew a great interest in photography. She applied for that course and got admitted to the Pune Film Institute (FTII). She passed out in 2004 after a three-year diploma. After graduation, Malini joined Bollywood films and did the work of focus puller and gaffer as a freelancer. She even worked with KU Mohan (cinematographer of Don) for a movie called Freaky Chakra. During her days in the film institute, she worked with many great artists. Shyam K Naidu for a Hindi film and Bommalata for Bellyful of Dreams were two among them.
