Richard (Ram) Prasad, born in 1965, is an Indian director of photography predominantly working in Telugu film industry. Richard Prasad has done cinematography for more than 50 films since he has entered the film industry. Initially, he entered the film industry by working as an assistant cameraman in feature films (Telugu) from 1986 to 1988. Richard Prasad realized his passion for cinematography and continued his work as an associate cameraman in feature films (Telugu) from 1989 to 1993 and finally he got his first break in Pacha Thoranam. However, this decision was not easy as it followed with a lot of struggle in his early life. After completing his SSLC, he joined the Film Institute in Chennai to pursue a Diploma in Cinematography (D.F.T.-Diploma in Film Technology). His resolute passion for photography urged him to drop out of college to grab the opportunity of becoming the assistant of Late VSR Swami, who was considered to be one of the most revered directors in Tollywood.

Richard Prasad has won many awards and has gotten recognition for his fantastic work as a cinematographer by winning the Best Cinematographer award, given by Sangam Academy Award for the movie “Nenu” in 2004.
