He also did a Kannada film ‘Ramleela’ which released in 2015. He is a relatively famous cinematographer and has earned himself a name within the industry circles.
Beginning his career with ‘Pranam’, a 2003 romantic movie dealing with incarnations, there was no looking back. Though the story of incarnations has been done to death in almost all of Indian film industry, the movie was applauded for the fresh way the story and movie looked.

Bharani K. Dharan grew up in Chennai and frequents between Chennai, Hyderabad and Kerala for work. He can read Tamil but his work isn’t much known in the Tamil movie industry- Kollywood. He is a part of the ‘South-Indian Cinematographers Association’ (SICA).
He has utilized his skills and genius and has done versatile movies spanning genres like romance, political thrillers, fantasy, thrillers and gangster movies. The same camera that captured the innocence of actresses has covered a host of gangster movies and crime movies. Like this one scene in ‘Manasu Palike Mouna Raagam’ wherein, Sneha’s face is tilted slightly to the left, holding a white calf, with patches of black, with the backdrop of a field. You could feel the gentle breeze hitting you while you get lost in the swirls of the heroine’s eyes. Now, contrast this to his gory movie ‘Veedhi: The Street’ where he doesn’t try to shy away from violence- he openly embraces it. The gory action sequences with blood splashing everywhere and severed heads tell you he doesn’t care to appeal to the audience but to shock them out of their seats. The surge of energy as he focuses his camera on the hero doesn’t even need mentioning. He is a unique blend of talent and expertise. Whether you like the film or not, you just can’t point fingers at the cinematography. That man knows what he does.
