Kalpathi S. Aghoram is a renowned producer of Tamil and Telugu films. He along with his two brothers, Kalpathi S. Ganesh and Kalpathi S. Suresh, owns a Chennai-based private equity and entertainment interest group named Kalpathi Group. In this group, Kalpathi S. Aghoram holds the position of Vice- Chairman with his brother Kalpathi S. Suresh organized an "annadhanam" in which they served food to more than 1500 people of Chennai in and around the T Nagar. The actors of the movie along with the music director, cinematographer and others were present at the venue. In the same year, rumors were that AGS Entertainment is banned by the Tamil Film Producer's Council (TFPC) for giving excessive advertisements for the release of Thani Oruvan, but there came no official statement about the imposition of such ban. Kalpathi S. Aghoram currently is the Vice-President of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. He was elected unanimously at the 85th AGM (Annual General Meeting) of the association which was held on 12th June 2015. Also worth mentioning is that this is his sixth consecutive term in the same designation i.e. being the Vice-President of TNCA. He was also nominated as the member of the Marketing Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2013.
