Dr. Shobana Swaminathan is a renowned Indian scholar musician and Veena artist from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Carnatic Music, the University of Madras. She has completed her graduation in Master of Arts and Master of Philosophy from the University of Madras. She holds a PhD from the Mother Teresa Women’s University. She is a teacher and has experience teaching in many reputed institutions like the University of Madras, Mother Teresa Women’s University, Vel’s University, Tamil Nadu Music and Fine Arts University, and many more. She was the principal of Sri Annai Kamakshi College of Fine Arts under the Tamil Nadu Music and Fine Arts University for four years. She is also a guest faculty at the Temple of Fine Arts in Singapore for Veena. She has performed concerts worldwide showcasing her skills in various Sabhas and institutions, including the 2017 Veena Mahotsavam. She has published numerous research papers and studies on classical music in music journals.
