R Rathindran Prasad

R Rathindran Prasad is a renowned Indian director, producer, and writer of Tamil movies. Born and brought up in Chennai in the 1980s, he tried his hands at dancing, which turned out to be a waste of time. Soon after his realization, he found his interest in making movies after watching the music video for Michael Jackson’s Thriller. He is best known for his amazing movies, which include Bhoomika, Inmai, Indu Vedhalam Sollum Kathai, etc. He also loves traveling. He is also a nature lover and has spent some of his time as an organic farmer in Auroville, near Puducherry, which led to his interest in environmental issues. His love for filmmaking started at an early age.

In 2010, he even worked on several projects like the German play Fruhlings Erwachen, etc., which was funded by the Bavarian government. He later on also went to release Kodaikanal Won't, which is based on environmental issues and has almost 2 million views. His short film, Swayers Corporation, was screened at the Cannes International Film Festival. He also directed two movies of the horror genre, which showcased his love for the sublimity of nature.

Inmai and Bhoomika were his attempts at communicating his fear for the sublime. Bhoomika was the result of his visit to Ooty, where he saw an abandoned building with creepers. Rathindran R. Prasad is a multifaceted Indian director, producer, and writer known for his extensive work in the Tamil film industry. His journey in cinema began in 2002 with the creation of his short film "The Colour Of Sound." He also directed the short film Trail of Blood (2013), the video Kodaikanal Won't (2015), the TV series Navarasa (2021), the film Boomika (2021), and the short film Amilam (2023). Beyond directing, he has also made his mark as a producer. He was the creative producer of the film Vaagi Sooda Vaa (2011).
