Marumalarchi K. Bharathi is an Indian filmmaker and actor who mainly directs village-based stories. He was born on May 11, 1951, in Tamil Nadu, India. He began his directorial career with Maru Malachi, which starred Mammootty. His film received critical acclaim, won the Tamil Nadu State film award, and the Best dialogue writer award for K. Bharathi. His second movie, Kallazhagar, was also a huge success, but it raised religious conflicts, so it was censored by the Board.
His next works received mixed reviews from the audience. In recent years, he is working as an actor for most parts.
