Unlike other shows, it has a village backdrop, where the chef cooks traditional Tamil dishes, mostly non-veg, using a chulha instead of a stove. The chef also prepares all the ingredients by himself instead of purchasing from the market. The show is excellent for those who like to cook and eat organic food cooked in the traditional style.
Pratap did his schooling at Loyola School, Chennai, and St. Joseph’s High School. He pursued his graduation in Viscom at Loyola College, Chennai. Further, he pursued a post-graduation at Loyola Institute of Business Administration. Pratap worked as a creative director for Sign of Life, where he focused on ad films and documentaries. Later, in 2006, he switched to Sun Network Pvt Ltd, where he worked as the Channel Head for about ten years. His role as a channel head entailed coming up with new concepts for shows and promoting Chutti TV.
He was also responsible for planning out specials and executing them. He oversaw the dubbing and trend creation for the channel. He was also involved in market research and keeping a tab on the existing competition, including the market for children’s shows. He handled the introduction of new and genuine ideas in the current shows. In 2016, Pratap joined SUN TV Network as Non-Fiction Head. After a stint of over five years, he was promoted to Channel Head of Sun Life and Sun TV Network.
