BS Lokanath

BS LOKANATH was one of the greatest celebrities in the Film industry who has contributed towards filmmaking. He was an Indian cinematographer who has given works in several languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi films. His work is widely recognized by people all over the world. He was born in 1937 in Bangalore, Karnataka. He was brought up in India only. He completed his schooling at one of the schools of Karnataka. He finished his educational qualifications and after that developed interest in the Film Industry. He was hugely motivated to work in the industry. Thenceforth, he dived into the world of movies and began providing the best works.

A Few of his credits from the beginning are Uttharavindri Ulle Vaa (1971), Dhikku Theriyadha Kaattil (1972), Arangetram (1973), Sollathaan Ninaikkiren (1973), Aaina (1977), Aval Oru Thodar Kathai (1974), Naan Avanillai (1974), Apoorva Raagangal (1975), Nool Veli/ Guppedu Manasu (1979), Idi Katha Kaadu (1979) and many more. All these films provided him with the fame from people all around the country. He continued giving blockbuster movies which were vastly appreciated by superiors also. These films assisted him in reaching the stage he’s right now. His work was not only acknowledged but was rewarded with some awards too. For Instance, he received the honorable National Film Award for Best Cinematography for Apoorva Raagangal (1975) and the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Cinematographer for Ninaithale Inikkum (1979). He has given more than 55 films in his career. He was wedded to R.L.Radha and had one child named B. L. Srinivas. Unfortunately, he died on 9 December 2011in Chennai, India, because of a heart attack.
