Alakuddi Veerasamy, known as A.K. Veerasamy was a predominant Tamil Actor. Born in 1952 in Thanjavur District, he had a brilliant career in the film industry. He married Rajlakshmi and the couple have five children, four sons and one daughter. He has acted in more than 500 films in Tamil as supporting and minor roles and was successfully left the lasting impression on the people even from the minor roles he played. in the film Unnaipol Orivan in 1965 and was awarded the National Award for his role in that movie. His famous movies are Rathna in 1998, Doorathu Idhi Muzhakkam in 1980, Vasoolraja M.B.B.S in 2004, and Ezhuthiyatharadi in 2008. Due to age-related illness, he died on 22 August 2010 in Chennai.
