Jasbir Jassi is a renowned Punjabi actor and singer. He was born on February 7, 1970 at Dalla Mirjanpur Village in Punjab, India. Jasbir was raised up in a typical town in Punjab, India. He studied at Apeejay College of Fine Arts in Jalandhar and earned a masters degree in classical music. He used to play the harmonium when he was a child and was trained by V.S. Jolly and Sufiana’s Puran Shah Koti. He was born as a philanthropist and believes that music is a religion of being together. He is a first generation musician who joined several musical plays such as Sadha Bugdu Bulo. He got noticed for his performances for the North Zone Cultural Centre.

In 1993, the brilliant singer sang the Channa Ve Teri Channani. In the late 1980’s, Jasbir started recording in many Punjabi films and he also sang for albums like Balle Balbiro Balle, Dil Le Gayee, Kudi Kudi, Nishani Pyar Di, Just Jassi, Mukhda Chann Varga, Akh Mastani, Back with the Bang, Bhangra, Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Saawan. The song Dil Le Gayee Kudi Gujrat Di from the album Dil Le Gayee was a major success and brings him fame and popularity. His latest album, Dhol was released this 2014 and it includes five tracks including the Giddhe Vich, Dhol, Aari Aari, Patli Patang and Nakhra.

Jasbir has performed in more than 5000 shows around the world. He was also featured on on NDTV Imagine and because of his vibrant performances, he earned the crown, ‘The Show Stopper’. He entered Bollywood after he sang the song, Laung Da Lashkara for the sports drama film, , which stars in 2011. He also sang the song Mahiya for the English language film, Hope and a Little Sugar in 2006. Jasbir also composed the song, Pyar Mere Nu for the Hindi film, Dobara in 2004 where he received appreciation. The songs Mel Karade Rabba for the 2010 Punjabi film, Mel Karade Rabba and Ik Kudi Utte for the film, Munde U.K. De in 2009 was a major success.

He acted in his debut film, Khushiyaan in 2011, where he bagged the main lead role opposite . He also made a guest appearance in the Pakistani romance film, in 2013. He was also a jury in the musical reality show, Voice of Punjab 2 and in 2014, he played as a Government Officer in Dil Vil Pyaar Vyaar.
