Daleema Malayalam Actress

Daleema is a Malayalam playback singer and a politician, born on 30th May 1969. She was born in Ezhupunna in Kerala to John Arattukulam and Ammini John. She is the youngest one in her family. Daleema is much interested in singing devotional songs, and she was one of the choir members in their village church. After completing her schooling, Daleema joined the Carnatic Music class run by Ramankutty Master and got the training for eight years. She got offers to sing in the stage shows and then got a huge opportunity to sing on international stages. She made stage shows in Rome, Italy, and Germany for the Malayalam audiences through the Kolping Society. Berny Ignatius composed Daleema’s first Christian devotional album. She received the NANA award for Venal Poompular Vela from the album Thapasya in 1995. She also sang the cover versions of the popular singer S Janaki. She made her debut as a playback singer with the film Kalyanappittanu.

Daleema has sung more than 5000 Christian devotional songs. She bagged the Kerala Sangeetha Nadaka Academy’s Best Singer three times in 2001, 2003, and 2008. She had also received Drishya Awards twice. She joined the Communist Party, and in 2015, Daleema was elected as the Vice President of Alappuzha District Panchayat Council. In 2021, she contested in the state elections and won a seat. Daleema is the first playback singer who is elected as an MLA in Kerala. Daleema is married to George Joseph, and the couple has two children.
