Anoop Jacob is an Indian politician and a Member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly and Legislative Party Leader of the Kerala Congress (Jacob), a constituent of the UDF political alliance. He was born on 16 December 1977. His father, T. M. Jacob, founded the party in 1993. He has a degree from Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram, and is a practicing lawyer at the Kerala High Court. He completed his bachelor’s in English Literature from Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram. His father was the Minister for civil supplies and food. Following the sad demise of his father on 30 October 2011, he was nominated by the Kerala Congress (Jacob) and UDF to contest the Piravom assembly seat previously represented by his father. He is married to Anila Geevarghese, an assistant professor at BPC college, Piravom, since 23 May 2002. They have a son and a daughter.
