Unni Malayil

Unni Malayil is an Indian Director, Editor, and Stereographer who predominantly works in the Mollywood film industry. He was born in Calicut, in the Kozhikode district of Kerala. Unni Malayil finished his schooling at Ramakrishna Mission High School and then went on to pursue his Bachelor’s Degree at Malabar Christian College. He has been married to Indu Unni since 18 April 2011, and the couple have one child together. Unni Malayil is very passionate about films. He made his debut in the film industry in 2019 as the writer and editor for the comedic film ‘ Puzhikkadakan Click to look into! >> Read More... ,’ which was directed by Gireesh Nair.

The film centers around an army veteran who decides to bring about change in his local society by protesting against greedy government officials.  Unni Malayil has also worked as an editor for other films such as Sudhin Vamatam’s Alice in Panchalinad in 2021, Prasad Prabhakar’s ‘ The Sound Story Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ in 2019, and Girish Nair’s ‘The Farmer’ in 2019. Besides this, he has worked as a color consultant for the film ‘Ice Orathi,’ which was released in 2021. Unni Malayil has also worked as an executive producer for the horror/ comedy film ‘Olam’ (2023), which was directed by VS Abhilash.
