P P Kunhikrishnan is an Indian Actor and Politician who works predominantly in the Malayalam film industry. He was born in Thadiyan Kovval, which is near Udinoor in the Kasaragod district of Kerala. P. P. Kunhikrishnan’s first job was teaching Hindi at AUPS school in Udinoor. After retiring from his post as a teacher, P. P. Kunhikrishnan began a career in politics. In 2020, he became an elected ward member of the Padanna village panchayat as a representative of the Left Democratic Front (LDS).
P P Kunhikrishnan is happily married to Saraswathy who is a school teacher. Together, the couple has two sons named Sarang and Azaad. P. P. Kunhikrishnan was interested in acting from a young age. When he was 18, P. P. Kunhikrishnan joined Manisha theatres in Thadiyan Kovval. Through this organisation , he became a part of local theatre and played a part in street and stage plays. Despite his demanding schedule, the politician makes it a point to participate in Manisha theatres’ annual play.

Kunhikrishnan to try his hand in the film industry and audition for the film ‘Nna Thaan Case Kodu’. P. P. Kunhikrishnan passed the audition despite his limited experience and got the role. Although P. P. Kunhikrishnan may have joined the film industry quite late in life, his debut role in ‘Nna Thaan Case Kodu’ (2022) was a major hit. In this film, he played the role of a comedic magistrate and went viral for throwing almonds at pigeons.
P. P. Kunhikrishnan's acting eventually won him the award for Best Character Actor in the Kerala State Film Awards in 2023. He dedicated this award to the people of Tadiyankovil. In the immediate year after his debut, P. P. Kunhikrishnan received requests to sign more than ten films. Three of these movies were released in 2023 including ‘Kasargold’, ‘Corona Papers', and ‘Panchavalsarapadhathi’. P. P. Kunhikrishnan merged his love for theatre and political activities by playing a major role in the CPI(M)’s rural theatre initiative.
P. P. Kunhikrishnan is known as a benevolent figure within the party. He is lovingly referred to as ‘P-P-Ku mash’ by the children of Balasangham, the children’s wing of the CPI(M) as well as some of his political comrades. P. P. Kunhikrishnan has a busy schedule between his acting career, political commitments, and social work. However, he manages to do justice to all his roles both on and off the big screen.
