Kim Ji-won

Kim Ji-won is a South Korean actress. She was born on 19th October 1992 in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, South Korea. She has an elder sister who is 2 years older than her. After graduating from Paekahm High School, Kim pursued her studies in drama at Dongguk University. She was a background vocalist for the famous singer Younha and appeared in her music video "Gossip Boy" in 2008. In 2013, Kim starred in one of the lead roles in the KBS Drama special Waiting for Love and the teen drama The Heirs. In 2014, Kim starred in the Gap-dong and The Reason I'm Getting Married. In December 2014, Kim signed a contract with King Kong Entertainment. In 2015, she starred alongside So Ji-sub in the romantic web series One Sunny Day.

In 2016, Kim co-starred in KBS2's military romantic drama Descendants of the Sun. The drama was a hit, and its success gave Kim worldwide recognition. She hosted the year-end KBS Drama Awards with Park Bo-gum and Jun Hyun-moo, where she won the Excellence Award. Kim won the Best Supporting Actress award at the APAN Star Awards. Kim won the Excellence Award at the KBS Drama Awards again due to her role in KBS2's romantic comedy drama, Fight for My Way. In 2020, she starred in the famous web series Lovestruck in the City. In 2022, she starred in the JTBC TV series My Liberation Notes. She got nominated for the Excellence Award, Actress in Korea Drama Awards in 2019. She has also been named one of the most attractive South Korean actresses of the year 2020. Kim is afraid of water. She overcame her water phobia through the web-series Love Struck in The City, where she learned how to swim. Kim sees her role as a blessing and prefers to be called by her character's name in real life.
