Song Hye Kyo is an actress from South who was born in Daegu, South Korea on November 22, 1981. When Song was born, she was in such bad health that her parents and the doctors feared she wouldn't live. After Song's recovery, her parents reported her birth on February 26, 1982, rather than her real birthday of November 22, 1981. She was raised by her mother in Gangnam, Seoul. In October 2017, she was married to Song Joong Ki. She studied schooling at Ewha Girls' High School and earned a bachelor's in film arts at Sejong University. She has worked in several Korean films, music videos, television shows, and web series.

Song donated money to the Beautiful Foundation in December 2016 for educational support initiatives for low-income students who aspire to become designers. Song donated to the Children's Hospital at Seoul National University 100 million won in July 2017. Song donated the Korean Red Cross 100 million won in March 2022 to aid those affected by the enormous wildfire that began in Uljin, Gyeongbuk and has since expanded to Samcheok, Gangwon. In 2011, she was honored with the Prime Minister's Commendation for income tax service, and in 2016, she was honored with the Presidential Commendation in South Korea.
