Lee El, born on 26th June 1982 as Kim Ji-Hyun, is a South Korean television, theater, and movie actress and model. She was born and brought up in Seoul, South Korea. Lee El adopted a screen name as her birth name is common in South Korea. She enrolled in an Acting course at Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul. She is known as a versatile actress who leaves an impact on the audience with any character she plays. Lee El lives with her pet cats. Lee El's first appearance on screen is in the 2009 movie Secret, where she plays a minor supporting character. She then played minor supporting roles in the super hit movies, including The Yellow Sea (2010) and Masquerade (2012). Her only theater performance is in the 2012 play The Hamlet. Lee El featured in the 2015 film Inside Men in a prominent supporting role. Her debut movie as a protagonist to hit the silver screen is the 2018 Lee Byeong-Heon directorial What A Man Wants. Lee El's latest movie ventures include the supporting roles in 2022 movies Love and Leashes and Yaksha: Ruthless Operations. Lee El debuted in television drama with the 2009 MBC series Good Job, Good Job. She made a cameo in the 2014 hit SBS drama It's Okay, That's Love starring Gong Hyo-jin and Jo In-sung. She appeared in a supporting role in the 2014 MBC drama Mother's Garden. She then appeared in cameos for several commercially successful Korean dramas like Goblin (2016) and A Korean Odyssey (2017). Lee El was one of the leads in the 2017 drama series Black next to Go Ara and Song Seung-Heon.

The 2018 KBS2 Korean drama, Matrimonial Chaos, marks her first television series as a leading character. Lee El next appeared in a prominent role in the 2019 drama When the Devil Calls Your Name. She starred alongside Lee Seol, Jung Kyung-ho, and Park Sung-Woong in this tvN fantasy series. The 2022 JTBC series My Liberation Notes is her latest TV drama in a leading role. She appeared beside well-known actors such as Kim Ji-won, Lee Min-ki, and Son Seok-Koo. DPLAN is her Entertainment Agency. Lee El likes beach vacations and enjoys going on walks.
