Hriday Lani is an Indian writer who has worked in several movies and TV series. Besides being a writer of several award-winning movies, Hriday has also worked as a script consultant, and dialogue writer. He has won the Filmfare award for his movie Sarfarosh, and Screen Award for the movie Yeshwant. He has written Hindi dialogues for various Hollywood movies, commentaries for several national and international documentaries. Hriday has also worked as an actor in the movie The Churning in the year 1976.
He has worked as a lyricist in Hero Hiralal in 1988 and in Holi in 1985. As a writer Hriday made his debut in the year 1978 in the movie Hungama Bombay Ishtyle. He wrote the dialogues for the movie. Popular movies of Hriday include Nukkad, Circus, Maya, Manchala, Rocky, Jai Veeru: Friends Forever, and Lahore. He also worked in the popular TV series CID in few episodes as a writer.
