Zalak Thakkar

Zalak Thakkar is an Indian television actress. She started as a film dance teacher and fiddled with several local films. She was also featured in some Gujarati television shows. But she gained her fame in the Hindi drama serial, Saarthi on STAR Plus under the production of Neela Telefilms. She replaced Neha Devi Singh Neha Devi Singh was born in Mumbai on August 13, 1 >> Read More... and played the female protagonist role of Devika Parekh/Bhoomika Goenka. Bhoomi is a mature mother of a 6-year old child. 

Zalka was born and raised up in Ahmedabad. She initiated her career at a very early age. She studied at Nelson International School in Ahmedabad. She is a graduate of Arts with awards in Sociology. She aspires to be a successful air hostess someday but her parents encourage her to dance. Her passion is dancing. She likes to dance to make herself fit and to avoid stress. She strongly believes that acting and dancing are a natural talent. She is a trained Kathak dancer but she left it since she finds it hard to learn and teach simultaneously. She was also a coach on western filmi dance. Zalak also loves teaching Gujarati folk dance. She started teaching dance when she was just 9 years old. She did several stage shows as a dancer and as a presenter before she started doing Bhojpuri films. She did the Kodi Ramakrishna Rama Krishna more familiarly known as Kode Rama Kr >> Read More... and the super hit Rajasthani film, Parai Beti. Before Saarthi, she acted in a Gujarati show that was aired on ETV Gujarati. Aside from acting and dancing, Zalak is also fond of reading books and learning to play a guitar. She was also a model for some video albums and some shot ads. She was also an anchor of several shows until she was chosen to be part of Saarthi. Her parents were hesitant at first on moving to Mumbai since she was only a teenager. But they were finally convinced. 

After Saarthi, Zalak took a hiatus and made a comeback in NDTV Imagine’s Chand Ke Paar Chalo. She bagged the role of Anita, a simple girl who is full of life and says what’s on her mind. She never gets shy of anything and she wants everyone around her to be happy. She was also part of the Hindu serial, Ramayana. 

As of now, she is doing a South film and since she hasn’t received any good offers yet, she considers doing few Tamil films. She also did some Telugu films before.
